Joan Zahra Dark (they/them) does a lot of things on top of trying to keep up with new snacks at 7-11. After spending 5 years as a worker-owner overhauling the bookstore and events space Bluestockings Cooperative, they now have slightly less daunting projects.

From working on massive conventions like Flame Con, handling production for clients like Silver Sprocket and Plus One Exp, writing for The Mary Sue and the Eisner-Award winning WWAC and doing freelance editing and marketing, Joan enjoys any project with great collaborators and a great mission behind it. 

Currently, Joan is organizing with the Cartoonist Cooperative, a workers rights organization for comic workers around the world that they partially founded in 2023. They’re also making their own games in the windy city of Chicago.
